This charming series of photos started with portraits of my friend Stephanie’s granny Edna Fiddis (96) with her collection of hats. Ten years later I took some more portraits with her two granddaughters Stephanie and Precious with some of her hats.

In the days of film and darkrooms – there was lots of room for creativity. Here are some photos of pre digital times.

This was printed on very rare gold-coated photographic paper
Shot on Kodak Portra film – and I made the pink net with roses on it.
This was quite a big set up to create the background and the clothing, lots of materials were used.

Vancouver has some of the most beautiful cherry blossoms in the world. A wonderful time to book a portrait and have cherry delights. A little photographic tip – use a stepladder it makes it easier to get closer to the cherry blossoms.
